Bani Sadeghi is a registered social worker with over 25 years of expertise in counselling and supporting children, youth, young adults, and families as they navigate anxiety, depression, and borderline personality challenges while fostering stability, self-control, and self-awareness. She excels in helping individuals overcome cultural barriers, bias, and stigma, empowering them to advocate for themselves effectively. Holding both a master’s degree in social work and a bachelor’s degree in general psychology, she is a member of the British Columbia Association of Social Workers.

Fluent in Farsi/Persian and English, and with a deep understanding of diverse cultural contexts, Bani skillfully addresses the complexities of modern life. 

Bani employs a trauma-informed approach, integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Emotional Processing Therapy. Her practice also includes foundational play therapy. She creates a safe, supportive environment that encourages clients to explore and address distressing thoughts and behaviours, fostering self-awareness, boundary-setting, and trust.

In addition to her counselling work, Bani has significant experience in educational counselling. She has served as a principal consultant and counsellor in various schools, helping students and parents overcome learning difficulties, manage behavioural issues, and enhance educational performance. Her personalized techniques and exercises also support clients in achieving personal and professional growth.

Grounded in humanistic philosophy, Bani's holistic and spiritually connected approach views life as a journey of growth and self-actualization. She uses her skills to help clients turn challenges into opportunities for personal development, engaging them emotionally and spiritually while offering new perspectives and practical solutions.

Through Motivational Interviewing, interpersonal mediation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving strategies, Bani uses reflective listening and empathy to help clients clarify their goals and values.
