Practice Information
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Simon Fraser University. My current professional development is focused on trauma-informed therapy, Critical Incident Stress Management, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and occupational stress injuries in health care providers and first responders.
In my Vancouver private practice, I specialize in helping individuals heal from trauma, overcome anxiety, depression, and addiction, build resilience, develop communication and relationship skills, process grief, change unwanted behaviours, and conduct self-exploration. I aim to support clients as they take steps toward a sense of peace, freedom, and connection in their lives. I work with clients, in both the short and long-term, to explore their story in some depth, to rediscover and build on their inherent strengths, and to innovate strategies to navigate obstacles and dilemmas. My theoretical orientation integrates trauma-informed, psychodynamic, existential-humanistic, behavioural, and holistic mind-body therapeutic approaches.
Life can be amazingly complicated, challenging, and unpredictable. I believe that people helping each other survive and thrive gives life its meaning. I am grateful to those who have helped me through turbulent periods in my life and I am privileged to offer help to others in my professional role as a counsellor and psychotherapist. If you are confused, overwhelmed, suffering, or feeling stuck I encourage you to reach out to a mental health professional you feel you could connect with. If you think I may be that person, I invite you to contact me to set up a consultation.
